Testimonials

I had the pleasure of meeting Tina over the 2003/2004 Australian PGA tours of summer events. I found Tina extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of the human physiology, especially in regard to her experience with many top and up coming golfers in Australia.
I’ve used many of the so called best and I must say Tina is in a very trustworthy and a true professional in her field.

As a professional golfer I have found the use of Osteopathy as an important component in my ongoing development within my chosen career. Osteopathy allows me to be free of all body ailments that restrict me in applying correct technique in my game. Over the last 4 years Tina has shown me the benefits of body management and I have no doubt that continued work at Coburg Osteopathy & Health Services will enable me to have a successful and long career in my chosen profession.

I was referred to Coburg Osteopathy, Tina Maio, 16 months ago. Shortly after I commenced a Fitness program. Once Tina was aware of my training requirements, she provided me with comprehensive professional advice on a range of fitness issues, which enhanced my training program and assisted me in achieving my goals.

I have found osteopathic treatment to have benefited my physical training in that when I have received treatment for an injury it has always been through. The reason for the injury occurring is always identified and treated, together with the area of pain. In addition to this, I have always been provided with advice on how to prevent the injury from recurring.

My experience at Coburg osteopathy have always good. You are always greeted by friendly staff, who go out of their way to assist you and make your visit more enjoyable. The practitioners are proficient and seem to have a comprehensive understanding of numerous osteopathic treatments and always seem to come up with an answer to the problem. Additionally, they appear to have a genuine interest in treating your injury, it is never a case of trying to get you out the front door as quickly as possible, so that they can move onto the next patient.

Also the offer of being able to contact staff via e-mail is great, allowing for some injury concerns to be sorted out without having to come into the clinic.

Keep up the good work Coburg Osteo!!

I saw my first Osteopath in Darwin some 4 years ago and promised myself I’d never venture back to a chiropractor especially, or Physiotherapist again.

Since then I have stuck with only two osteopaths, the one in Darwin and then Justine at your clinic in Melbourne. I have known for quite a few osteopaths (and all seem to be held in a similar state of high regard) and I recommend osteopathy- and particularly Justine.- to everyone who grumbles about the slightest pain. It’ll do more for them than they realise.

Osteopathy gave me freedom from chiropractic crunching and the physiotherapists stretching. It gave me the balance my body needed. Never does my body feel more relieved than after a session with an osteopath. I need the mixture of manipulation and stretching it provides. Both osteopaths have taken more time at my initial interview getting to know and understand my body than all chiro’s and physio’s combined!

Unlike their counterparts I intend including osteopaths in my ‘life time body maintenance’ program, not just a solution to an aching problem! Now all I have to do is convince you to visit Alice Springs once a month! (there isn’t an osteopath here).

Thanks, Kellie.

Drug free. Pain free. Surgery free. Thanks to Coburg Osteopathy and Health Services!

In the mid- 1990’s X-rays confirmed severe osteoarthritis in my right hip. Pain management was effected through pain killing substances and the prognosis was for a hip replacement in the near future. I had just turned 50 at this time.

The condition of the arthritic hip worsened in the late 1990’s and I was taking Celebrex daily to manage pain. Losec became necessary to manage the side effects of the Celebrex.

In February 2002, I commenced treatment with Dr. Justine Nichols at the Coburg Osteopathic and Health Services. What a change to my life!!

Since commencing osteopathy, I have not taken any tablets, nor have I experienced any severe pain from the arthritis. The arthritic condition of the hip is being effectively managed now through manipulation.

What a joy it is not to be putting pills into my mouth each day! As well I can plan activities knowing that I will not experience pain.

Right from the first consultation with Dr Nichols, I have felt cared for and confident in the treatment which she has administered. It was explained to me that osteopathy would not cure the severe osteoarthritis, but it would manage the condition.

At each consultation, Dr Nichols questioned and assessed the progress; provided ongoing treatment; and, established plans for the future. At all stages of these consultations, I was fully informed of the treatment. I did not have to ask what was going on, as Dr Nichols told me- without having to consult a computer!

The staff at Coburg osteopathic and Health Services are friendly, helpful and very client focused. It is a warm and welcoming place to visit. My appointment needs have always been accommodated easily.

What a change to my life!! No pain killing drugs; none of the previous pain from the arthritis; and, no hip replacement!!!

Thank you Dr Justine Nichols and all at the Coburg Osteopathy and Health Services. I am more than willing to discuss any of the above with anyone who wishes it.

Mr. Laurie Miller

I’m in my late sixties; healthy; retired; a keen gardener and involved in various clubs and groups. Last year my right knee became extremely painful; just trying to walk was an effort and I began to lose confidence in tackling even a few stairs.

I said to my daughter that I needed to see someone about it before I lost my confidence completely. She said “Why don’t you see my osteopath?”. And I asked: “What is an osteopath?”

Well … several months down the track, after what seemed to me a very natural approach (no tablets or injections) but by manipulating, stretching and putting pressure on that badly behaving nee and surrounds, and giving me gentle exercises to do at home, Tina was able to have me confidently stepping out again and stairs are no longer a problem. I’m a bit more informed about osteopaths too!

I am currently attending the level 1 sports trainers course which is held at Whitten Oval on Monday nights and I would just like to take this opportunity to let you know that I am extremely impressed with Tina that has been taking the class thus far. She speaks well, involves the class with fun and interesting participating sessions and is always available to discuss any issues or problems we may have. Not to mention that her knowledge in this field is outstanding.

The course is daunting for some of us (me) who have only just recently taken up this field, however I am happy to be part of it and that is largely due to Tina. I know that everyone else in the class shares the same opinion as it has been discussed in length during conversation after class. We feel that your department is extremely fortunate to have such an asset on board.
